Genius. I sometimes feel like it's our responsibility to not only try to save endangered animals, but to remember the ones that have gone extinct because of us. There are so many people who don't even know what a Passenger pigeon or a Carolina parakeet is.
Have you read "Hope is the thing with feathers" by Christopher Cokinos? There's a whole chapter on the Passenger pigeon and the history of their extinction. One of the best books I ever read.
